A journey to divine fulfilment
The Barrenness, The Prayer, The Vow: A Journey to Divine Fulfilment
You’re invited to a powerful 2-day in-person event taking place in Birmingham, UK, on 20th and 21st June! Join us as we explore the profound themes of barrenness, the power of prayer, and the sacredness of vows — drawing inspiration from the story of Hannah in the Bible and the scriptural foundations of making and fulfilling vows.
Theme: The Barrenness, The Prayer, The Vow: A Journey to Divine Fulfilment
Hannah’s journey, found in 1 Samuel 1:1-11, is a testament to unwavering faith. After years of barrenness and heartache, she turned to God in prayer, making a solemn vow:
“O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.” (1 Samuel 1:11, KJV)
In her darkest moment, Hannah’s faith and persistence led to divine intervention — God blessed her with a son, Samuel, who became a great prophet. Alongside this, Numbers 30:1-16 teaches us the importance of making and keeping vows before the Lord, reminding us that a vow is not just a promise but a sacred covenant with God.
Throughout this event, we will:
- Explore the emotional and spiritual dimensions of barrenness — whether physical, emotional, or symbolic.
- Dive deep into the power of prayer and its role in transforming our circumstances.
- Reflect on the significance of vows and their connection to divine fulfilment.
- Engage in uplifting worship, prayer sessions, and enriching discussions.
